The Islamic Ummah is living these days the anniversary of the Prophet's migration from Mecca to Medina 1432 years ago, where the Prophet (peace be upon him) accompanied by his friend and companion Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) came from Mecca as an immigrant to Yathrib.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to speak about the conflict between good and evil, between right and wrong, and from here he used to speak about it as a series of positions in which the people of truth have been proved, and the humiliation and pain have been inflicted on the people of falsehood.”

As for the reason for his history, Abu Musa al-Ashari wrote to Umar ibn al-Khattab saying: “There comes to us from you a book that has no history,” so Umar gathered people to ask their opinion as to what the date is, and some of them said, “Argh in the resurrection.” Some of them said, “Argh in migration.”

Many ancient and modern historians have written about the biography of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), but Muhammad Hussein Heikal's Life remains one of the most prominent books written in modern times about this great historical and religious figure.
