Historical View Before the age of scientific disclosures, it was widely believed that the whole body was sensitive to pain, and it was not clear to anyone that there were specialized nerve endings in the skin to convey sensations and pain, until the role of nerve endings in the skin was revealed and it is the most important organ because it contains the largest number of them. Dr. Head divided the skin sensation into two groups: a delicate sensation that distinguishes the sense of light touch and the simple difference in temperature. A primary sensation and is related to pain, and extreme temperature. Each sensation: works with a different type of nerve units, and there are cells dedicated to detecting special changes in the environment and known as receptors and divided into four types: Cells that are affected by the external environment and are specific to the sense of touch, including Meisner particles and Mergel particles Hair cells, and the ends of the Cruze follicles are intended for cold. Anatomists have also demonstrated that the small intestine is devoid of the interior of sensory receptors, while it is found at a high density in the mesenteric zone between the parietal peritoneum and the outer layer of the intestine coated with visceral peritoneum, and in this zone there is a large number of basini particles and the parietal peritoneum is 20400 cc, which is the same size as the outer skin of the body. The pain receptors and other sensory units in the gut are similar to those in the skin. Scientific Miracles: A. God Almighty states that the skin is the place of suffering, so he connects the skin and the sensation of pain in the first verse. And that when the skin matures and burns and loses its structure and function, the sense of pain disappears, and it is replaced by a new skin that is fully functional, in which nerve endings – specialized in the sensation of heat and fire pain – perform their role and task; to make this man who disbelieves in the verses of God taste the torment of burning. Modern science has revealed that the specialized nerve endings of the sensation of heat and fire pain are only found intensely in the skin. No human being before the invention of the microscope and the advance of microanatomical science could have known this fact, which the Qur’an referred to fourteen centuries ago... Thus the miracle and the revelations of God are revealed. B. The Qur’an threatened the infidels with torment with intimate water cutting their intestines in the second verse. The secret to this threat was finally revealed by the discovery that the intestines are not affected by heat, but if they are cut off, the intimate water comes out of them to the area of the mesica, rich in receptors of heat and pain and nerve endings that carry them to the brain, and then man feels the highest degree of pain. Thus, the scientific miracle is manifested in the sense of pain, in harmony between the facts of medicine and the miracles of the Holy Quran.
