“Verily in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, and in the ark that runs in the sea, are things that benefit men, and that which Allah sends down from the sky, so He gives life to it.”
Patterns of Vision Angles in the Holy Quran
“Verily in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of night and day and of the ark that runs through the sea, what benefits men, and what Allah sends down from the sky, so He revives with it the earth after its death, and dwells in it of every beast, and the winds and clouds that are made between the sky and the earth are signs for a people who understand.”
The Cow: 164.
This verse is a comprehensive cosmic encyclopedia and a corner of the vision of the universe in the Holy Quran, and it identifies a pattern of viewing angles in the Holy Quran.
First mode:
Seeing from the top down (from the biggest to the smallest) is its nature: a discourse that connects the faculties and the parts, from the wide universe to the small details.
Its significance: the construction of a holistic conception that dominates human consciousness and places it within the framework of cosmic greatness.
The second pattern:
Nature: A discourse that starts from the concrete particles to the occult and cosmic faculties.
Its significance: the education of the human mind to reflect from the familiar sense towards the higher truths
* The example of Surah Yassin (v. 33-40):
And a sign for them is the dead earth, which We gave life to, and brought forth from it grain, of which they eat; and We made gardens of date-palms and grapes therein, and blew forth therein of the eyes, that they might eat of its fruits, and what their hands had wrought. They are dark, and the sun runs to its resting place; that is the estimate of the Mighty, the All-Knowing, and the Moon.
(
The third pattern:
Viewing from the bottom up (from the smallest to the largest) Final developed conclusion:
The verse of Surah Al-Baqara (164) not only presents a rigid "cosmic encyclopedia", but also a "holistic systemic model" of the universe. It describes a major life cycle that begins from the great creation (the heavens and the earth) and ends with the direct benefit of man (the benefit of people, so long as the earth lives, signs for reasonable people), passing through interconnected and inseparable circles.
This third pattern (integration) is the highest manifestation of the scientific miracle in the Quran, because it does not only refer to individual scientific facts, but also precedes modern science in referring to the theory of systems and environmental integration (Ecosystem Integration), which makes the verse renew its significance as science progresses, not to acquire its significance from it. It does not just mention "what" exists, but "how" the universe works as a unified and harmonious whole to serve a divine purpose and wisdom.
