DNA duplication: copying the genetic message

In addition to transcription and translation, the cellular information processing system doubles the DNA, and this double-up occurs whenever the cells divide and give out new cellular copies. As with transcription and translation, DNA replication relies on many separate proteins that induce the decoding, binding, copying, modifying, and rewrapping of the original DNA message. Even in prokaryotes, more than 30 specialized proteins are involved in DNA replication to accomplish tasks necessary to build and copy the gene molecule properly. These specialized proteins include: DNA polymerase, primase, helicase, topoisomerase, DNA binding proteins, DNA ligase, and modified enzymes, DNA needs these proteins to copy the genetic information contained in it, but the proteins that copy the genetic DNA information are themselves built from these! This again brings up the mystery that is at the very least intriguing: the production of proteins needs DNA, but the production of DNA needs proteins! - Dr. Steven Meyer. — Source: Published on Facebook's "Braheen Center" page
