We are made up of a number of atoms between (10 28) and (10 29). This (human scale) is numerically halfway between the masses of the atoms and the masses of the stars. The mass of the Sun will need to be filled by a number of human bodies roughly equal to the number of atoms inside us, but our Sun is only a normal star in a galaxy with about 100 billion stars, and there are at least as many galaxies in the observable universe as the number of stars in our galaxy.
Living organisms are molded from layers embedded in a complex structure, combining atoms into complex molecules, and interacting through complex pathways in each cell, indirectly leading to the overall connected structure, which makes a tree, an insect, or a human. We are sandwiched between the universe on one side, and the microcosm on the other.
